The ruins in St Columb's Park are of the chapel of St Brecan, rebuilt by Redmond O'Gallagher, Bishop of Derry from 1569 - 1601. When Archbishop Colton made his tour of inspection in 1397 he crossed the Foyle from Derry and came to the 'parish church of St Brecan situated in the lands of Clone'. The chapel is on a low hill and is the oldest relic of building in Derry....

There are two walking trails within the wood, the first trail is 1 kilometer long and the other is 2 kilometer long. The walks are ideal for everyone....

Nearby is a small dish shaped depression carved out of solid rock, St Patrick's Well, which is credited with special healing powers. Car park and picnic site, red deer.
